Brodie considered a 'game-time decision' for Monday night

Fans of the Calgary Flames and residents in Chatham-Kent who have been anxiously awaiting the return of TJ Brodie may be in luck.

The defenceman from Chatham-Kent returned to the ice for practice over the weekend after a scary situation sent him to the hospital earlier this month. Brodie collapsed on the ice during a practice on November 14. Although he was released from the hospital within the same day, Brodie did have to undergo further testing.

On Sunday, the Flames posted a video on Twitter where Brodie could be seen skating on the ice with his teammates in Pittsburgh. However, it’s unknown if Brodie will be in Monday night’s lineup.

"It's an emotional boost. It's good to see him - get the group together again - and he'll be a game-time decision [on Monday]. So we hope to get him in the lineup," said William (Bill) Peters, head coach of the Calgary Flames, in a statement posted on NHL.com.

The Flames activated Brodie from the injured reserve on Monday afternoon. The game between the Calgary Flames and Pittsburgh Penguins starts at 7 p.m. on Monday.
