One of Sarnia-Lambton's newest businesses celebrated its grand opening on Monday, but not like you would typically expect.
A virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony was held over Zoom Chat to officially launch environmental branding and marketing firm Lake Effect Studio.
It's owned and operated by recent graduates Sam Eastman and Kelly Moir.
Moir said they're able to help businesses with a wide range of services including web design, social media management, logo design, and digital content creation.
"We are including some services such as zero-waste event planning, helping businesses to adopt a circular economy model which is cutting off the life cycle of a product from just going to a landfill, and facilitating eco-friendly printing, packaging and physical marketing options."
Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu, MPP Bob Bailey, and several other local business owners were among those in attendance.
Gladu congratulated Eastman and Moir for all of their hard work to get to this point.
"It's wonderful to see young people return to Sarnia and build a life here because it is a great place to be," said Gladu. "I know that you're going to be helping out our community, I know you're going to be successful, and I know you'll take us in a good green direction."
The business, which doesn't have a physical storefront, is a member of the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce.
