South Bruce Peninsula to allow access to beaches and parks

South Bruce Peninsula is opening access to beaches and parks starting Tuesday.

In a release, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula says the openings of beaches and parks are on a restricted trial basis, and that beaches and parks may be used for walk-through purposes only.

Residents must not sit, stand, lay, sunbathe, play, loiter, etc. on any town beach or in town park. Crossing a beach or park to access the water to swim or boat is permitted.

Children that are swimming must be accompanied by a supervisor in the water with them, you can not watch children from shore. Residents who use beaches or parks for anything but walk-through purposes will be fined.

Groups of no more than 5 are allowed and washroom facilities will only be open in Sauble Beach at the Town Square and the Sixth Street washroom building. Two porta-potties will be open in Bluewater Park in Wiarton.

The town will close the beaches and parks if people do not adhere to the rules.
