Break and enters in Chatham lead to arrests
Police were able to nab two people after two separate break and enters.
On Friday evening, officers discovered that a number of tools were stolen from a building on Fourth Street in Chatham.
Video surveillance was reviewed and a suspect was identified. As a result, a Chatham man was arrested for break and enter, theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
Police were also able to recover the stolen property which was returned to the victim.
The suspect was released from custody with a future court date.
Then early Saturday morning, residents of a house on St. Clair Street were woken up by two men attempting to enter their garage.
The residents were able to scare the men off, when one of the suspects allegedly threw a hammer at one of the individuals. The hammer missed the victim.
Officers attended the scene and located one of the suspects, a 29-year-old from Chatham who was arrested and held for bail.

Man arrested for failing to comply
A man is in trouble with the law after allegedly failing to comply with his house arrest.
The 41-year-old was released from custody in April with several conditions including staying at his residence at all times except for medical emergencies.
On Friday afternoon, police located the man in a residence on Coverdale Street. The man was not at his home or in the presence of his surety.
As a result, he was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.
Arrest on warrant
Yesterday afternoon, while on general patrol, police located a woman currently wanted by the Chatham-Kent Police Service for theft of a motor vehicle.
The 36-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
