Another library in Chatham-Kent is offering curbside service as libraries across the province remain closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) started offering curbside pickup this week at its Wallaceburg branch.
Pickup services are by appointment only and can be booked online. However, residents without internet access can call (519) 627-5292.
The CKPL launched the new curbside option at its Chatham branch on June 16. The launch appears to have been successful as 75 patrons took advantage of the service within the first three days of it being available.
Over the next few weeks, curbside service will expand to include the libraries in Ridgetown and Tilbury.
"The health and safety of the library team and the public is important to us, so precautions will be in practice to keep everyone safe. If you are unwell, CKPL asks that you cancel your appointment and keep library materials at home for a two week period," read a release from the CKPL. "No library fines are being charged during curbside service."
Residents are asked to be patient if calling a library branch as the CKPL is working with limited staff.
The CKPL virtual library is also available for residents to use.
