A 20-year-old Chatham woman is facing four counts of mischief after she allegedly treated several holding cells like her own personal potty.
Chatham-Kent police said the woman was arrested Wednesday night after she allegedly showed up at a home in Chatham last week that she was banned from attending and started banging on the door.
While the woman was in police custody Thursday morning, she allegedly urinated on the floor of her cell, and then urinated on the floor of a second cell after she was moved out of the first one. She also allegedly smeared her breakfast on the camera lens in the second cell.
Police moved the woman to a third cell and there, she allegedly tried to use toilet paper to block the security camera. She was then moved to a fourth cell, where she allegedly defecated on the floor.
In their report, officers also noted, specifically, that all four cells had functioning toilets available.
As a result of the incidents, all four cells were temporarily unavailable until they could be professionally cleaned and disinfected.
The woman accused of making the messes was charged with four counts of mischief in addition to the first charge of failing to comply with her release conditions for showing up at an address she was banned from attending.
