The London Fire Department confirmed that three firefighters have tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the health unit to declare a workplace outbreak.
The City of London issued a statement on Sunday confirming the outbreak, stating the affected firefighters are currently self-isolating for two-weeks. Anyone in close contact with the three individuals have been tested, or have been directed to be tested, and will also go into quarantine for 14 days.
The investigation is ongoing, but the threat to the community is low, as firefighters on duty wear personal protective equipment at all times when responding to emergency calls.
