Serious Collision

A Chatham man had to be airlifted to a London hospital after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree on Pinehurst Line.

Chatham-Kent police said the crash happened on Saturday afternoon. The 30-year-old Chatham man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with serious injuries and then transferred to London via Ornge Air Ambulance.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000.

Train Collision in Chatham

A man from Chatham is getting medical attention at a Windsor hospital after he was struck by a freight train Sunday night.

Police in Chatham-Kent said a Canadian Pacific train hit a pedestrian at the intersection of King Street East and Adelaide Street South.

The 29-year-old Chatham man sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and later transferred to Windsor for further medical attention.

Traffic Enforcement

Speeding continues to a be a problem in Chatham-Kent.

Officers charged 11 drivers with speeding during traffic enforcement on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham Sunday afternoon. One person was charged with driving while prohibited.

Mischief in Wallaceburg

Police are investigating after someone spray-painted the playground equipment at Glassford Park on King Street over the weekend.

Police Looking for Help

Chatham-Kent police need your help in identifying the man and woman below who are believed to be involved in a theft at a business on Grand Avenue West in Chatham on Friday night. Investigators said the pair was seen leaving the area in a white car.
