A 35-year-old Toronto resident is facing ten charges after police allegedly found about $20,000 worth of illegal drugs during a traffic stop on the Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
Chatham-Kent OPP said an officer on general patrol pulled the vehicle over in the eastbound lanes of the highway just east of Ridgetown at around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday.
While the officer was investigating, they allegedly found some illegal drugs and some drug-related equipment in the driver's possession.
As a result, the driver was arrested and charged with several offences including possession of ecstasy, DMT, cocaine, magic mushrooms, and other drugs.
The driver was also charged with speeding, driving while having cannabis readily available, driving with an open container of liquor, and failing to surrender a permit and an insurance card.
The accused was arrested and later released from custody with a future court date.
