CK residents challenged to get out and use local trails

Chatham-Kent residents are being challenged to make the most out of municipal trails over the last few weeks of summer.

The CK Trail Challenge is back for a second year and residents have a chance to win prizes each week in August.

Whether it’s cycling, walking, running, skateboarding, or rollerblading, residents can log their active transportation and win prizes.

"Every week there will be QR codes posted at trails all over Chatham-Kent," said Healthy Built Environment Student Benjamin Duggan said in a release. "Scan the code, fill out a survey, and enter for a chance to win a prize pack. Ten prize packs will be given out every week for the month of August."

Chatham-Kent currently has over 226 kilometres of recreational trails and pathways, with more planned across the region.

Each week will feature a different theme that shows off the diversity of the municipality's trails. The first week will feature forest trails. The second week will take you to scenic water views from Lake Erie to Lake St. Clair.

The third and fourth weeks will take you through trails that weave through the suburbs and ones that feature amenities for families.

A full list of the weekly locations can be found here. The CK Trail Challenge runs until September 4.
