If you were planning a three-week camping trip at a provincial park, you might want to adjust your plans.
Ontario Parks is shortening how long campers can stay at some of its parks including MacGregor Point, Inverhuron, Pinery, Point Farms, and Sauble Falls.
The parks service announced Monday it has seen reservations for campsites rise from 4.3-million in 2014 to over 6.6-million in 2021.
With that in mind, it says it wants to ensure that more people can enjoy camping at some of the more popular spots during the busy summer season.
Between July 1 and the Labour Day long weekend, the maximum length of stay is dropping from 23 nights to seven at popular parks like Algonquin and Pinery, or 14 nights at others like Port Burwell, Rondeau, and Wheatley.
Outside of those two months, the maximum stay will remain at 23 nights.
The new limits do not apply to all provincial parks or back-country camping.
