A one-of-its-kind experience at TJ Stables is once again being recognized for its innovation in tourism.
The Chatham-based business has been awarded by the Southwestern Ontario Tourism Corporation.
TJ Stables and its Spirit Horse Encounter experience took home the Innovative Experience of the Year award at the Southern Ontario Tourism Conference in London on Wednesday.
The experience launched last June and allows for a unique opportunity to learn about First Nations and Metis cultures while being among the historic Ojibwe Spirit Horses.
“We truly are honoured to be presented with this award," said TJ Stables Co-Owner Terry Jenkins. "These little ponies have so much to share and we are humbled to be able to be a part of something so unique."
TJ Stables was awarded for the same experience last October. The business won the Indigenous Tourism award for innovation at the 2021 Ontario Tourism Summit.
"We are so proud of Terry and her entire team at TJ Stables," said Tourism Development Supervisor Shannon Paiva. "If you haven't had the opportunity yet to experience this unique-to-Canada tourism offering, we highly recommend it. They are truly deserving of this prestigious honour."
