A new, family-friendly amusement attraction is coming to Chatham.
Flying Squirrel Sports, a company that operates some of the largest trampoline parks in the world, is setting up shop in Chatham-Kent.
The indoor park is slated to be set up inside the former YA Canada building at 730 Richmond Street, which served as a mass vaccination clinic for several months last spring after the John D. Bradley Centre clinic closed its door.
Flying Squirrel currently operates eight sports parks in Canada, including one in London, at 4380 Wellington Road, just off Highway 401. The company has plans to open several new facilities shortly, including the one in Chatham.
"Flying Squirrel Sports is true fun for the whole family, where the rules of gravity no longer apply!" reads a blurb on the company's website. "It's a spring-loaded, urban playground like you've never seen before, and whether you're a seasoned adrenaline junkie or a family with toddlers and young children, everyone will enjoy themselves at Flying Squirrel."
In addition to freestyle trampolines, Flying Squirrel locations offer attractions such as dodgeball courts, climbing walls, foam pits, dunking hoops, rope swings, a kiddie area, an arcade café, and more. The sports park also boasts itself to be an exciting attraction for those of all ages and hosts birthday parties and large group buyouts of up to 300 people.
More information about the park's anticipated opening is expected to be revealed next week as the municipality kicks off the "Celebrating CK in May" campaign. The month-long corporate initiative will highlight several new developments taking place in Chatham-Kent next month.
