Man arrested for failing to attend court

A 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was taken to the Southwest Regional Detention Centre after getting arrested in Wallaceburg.

Police located the man on Margaret Avenue on Thursday night and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a January 2024 mischief investigation in Wallaceburg.

The 32-year-old was transported to police headquarters for a bail hearing, where he was remanded into custody until his next video court appearance. 

He is currently facing charges of mischief endanger life, and failing to attend court.

Man arrested in Sarnia on outstanding warrant

A Chatham man is in custody after failing to attend court in relation to an impaired driving investigation.

Chatham-Kent police say the 23-year-old was in custody in Sarnia when he was arrested and transported back to Chatham for a bail hearing.

He was remanded into custody until his next video court appearance and was transported to Southwest Regional Detention Centre.

In addition to the impaired driving charge, he is also facing charges of theft, possession of stolen property, and two counts of failing to attend court.

Traffic stop leads to more charges for Chatham man.

A Chatham-Kent police officer on general patrol pulled over a vehicle around midnight on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

The officer learned the man driving was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to probation violations.

The 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He was remanded into custody until his next video court appearance, and was taken to the Southwest Regional Detention Centre.

He is currently facing three counts of failing to attend court, along with failing to comply with a probation order, failing to comply with a release order.
