Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers has spiced up its annual Finger Print Clinic.
The event has been expanded and has now become The Children’s Safety Expo.
The Expo will still include the Finger Print Clinic, which will be offered to children between the ages of infant and 16-years-old.
The clinic is designed to provide parents and guardians with critical information necessary to expedite the search process if their child were to ever go missing.
However, the event will be refreshed to also offer safety training for a variety of emergency situations, as well as meet and greets with local Public Safety Personnel.
“These are our next doctors and lawyers and teachers and news reporters, so we want to make sure they're very aware of the dangers out there and how to prevent it,” said Bill Isaacs, Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers Vice President.
The organizers have also ‘sweetened’ up the experience by adding treats and prizes.
There will be a variety of treats, including slushies, cotton candy, hot dogs, and more, as well as two prizes that will be given out.
“For any kids coming dressed up as an Emergency Responder, their name will be entered to win a new bike provided by Smyth Cycle,” said Isaacs.
Children will also have the opportunity to win a Nintendo Switch by completing a prize passport.
The event will be held at the John D Bradley Centre on Sunday, September 14.
