Public washrooms reopening in some London parks

Londoners will once again be able to spend an extended amount of time in a few of the city's green spaces without worry of being left without a washroom.

The City of London announced on Friday it has reopened the washroom facilities at nine London parks. The washrooms will be open daily between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. The number of people that will be allowed in each washroom at a time is being limited to two.

Twice a day, city staff will clean and restock the facilities.

Signs will be placed in washrooms reminding users of safety measures meant to stop the spread of COVID-19. They include maintaining a physical distance of 2 metres from others in the facility, sneezing or coughing into your elbow or sleeve and washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Washrooms at the following parks have been reopened:

  • Vauxhall Park
  • Springbank West
  • Springbank pump house
  • Springbank Gardens
  • North Street in Springbank Gardens
  • Thames Park
  • Greenway Park
  • Gibbons Park
  • Ivey Park (will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
The reopening of the park washrooms comes one week after the city began allowing people back to local spray pads.
