City-run recreation programs return with new health measures

Recreation programs run by the City of London will soon be available to the public following a temporary hiatus to implement new COVID-related health measures.

The City of London said the modified recreation and community programs will again be offered in community centres and arenas beginning Thursday, while "Learn to Skate" programs will be provided starting on Saturday.

The city halted its programs last week on Friday after the Middlesex-London Health Unit issued a Section 22 order, requiring new health measures, which came into effect on Saturday. Those health measures include increased physical distancing and group size restrictions, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Instructors are also required to wear face coverings.

Aquatic programs were not affected by the newly introduced health measures and will continue to be offered as scheduled.

Registration for city-run programs will open to the public on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. For more information on how to register and details about each program, click here.
