Aeolian Hall is putting on a benefit concert for the victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake with all proceeds going to the International Red Cross.
The natural disaster happened in February, leaving millions of people across southwest Turkey and northwest Syria without shelter, food, clean water, or sanitation.
“It’s important to reach out locally, nationally, and internationally to do what we can to offer help to those suffering. The impact of the earthquake will be long-lasting; its damage to the lives of those connected to it was enormous,” said the theatre’s Artistic and Executive Director Clark Bryan. “The Aeolian and community musicians are coming together to raise money to support relief efforts of the International Red Cross in these countries. I am grateful to our staff, volunteers, board, and our community musicians for their donated services to make this effort possible.”
The show, called “Rebuild & Restore,” is scheduled for Saturday night at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Entry is by donation, and the suggested minimum amount is $25.
Several local artists will be featured in the concert, as well as special performances by Turkish musician Arda Tanil Kersü and Arabic musician Jeries N Basir.
