Three suspects sought in Ingersoll attempted break-in

Provincial police are asking for the public's help identifying three suspects in an attempted break-in that brought a heavy police presence to Ingersoll.

Two women and a man were trying to break inside of a home on Robinson Road just before 8 p.m. Sunday when they were confronted by the homeowner. The trio took off running and the homeowner called 911.

One of the suspects was reportedly carrying a rifle, police said.

OPP officers with the Oxford and Middlesex detachments, emergency response unit, tactics and rescue unit, and the canine unit swarmed Robinson Road, Thomas Road, and Wallace Line looking for the suspects. During that time, residents were asked to avoid the area and were reassured there was no threat to public safety.

The extensive search proved unsuccessful with police unable to find the three suspects. They are now appealing to the public for assistance in locating and identifying the three.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his 20s, approximately 5'8'', with blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, and a flattened nose bridge. He was wearing a black ski mask and black clothing and appeared to be carrying a black and brown-coloured rifle.

The second suspect is described as a Caucasian female in her 20s, approximately 5'9'', with dirty blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail. She was wearing purple-coloured reading glasses, a ski mask and black clothing. She also had a tragus piercing with an identifiable gold-coloured stud on one of her ears.

The third suspect was reported a Caucasian female in her 20s, approximately 5'3'', with a heavy build, brown eyes and wavy brown hair. She was wearing a black toque, a black surgical mask, black clothing, and a ring on her right hand.

Anyone with information about the three suspects or the attempted break-in is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
