A ruckus at a northwest London store that saw profanities shouted, groceries thrown, and a cap gun fired has led to charges against three teenagers.
According to London police, three teens went inside the grocery store in the area of Hyde Park Road and Oxford Street West around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday. The trio then began running through the store yelling profanities, throwing groceries at customers, stealing items, and firing what appeared to be a gun into the air. They are also alleged to have assaulted an employee before running from the store.
Multiple 911 calls were made in regard to the incident and London police were given a description of the teens.
Police arrived and arrested two teens outside of the store. A third teen took off running but was arrested a short distance away. One officer was hurt while taking the third teen into custody and required medical treatment.
A search of the suspects turned up items stolen from the store and an imitation cap gun, police said.
A 17-year-old, 15-year-old, and a 14-year-old are charged with causing a disturbance by fighting/shouting/swearing.
The 17-year-old faces an additional charge of possession of property not exceeding $5,000 obtained by crime. The 15-year-old is also charged with theft not exceeding $5,000 and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace. The 14-year-old is additionally charged with assault and assault with a weapon or imitation weapon.
All three teens are scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on July 8.
