A combination of warmer air, and rain in the forecast could mean rising water levels and possible ice jams in the Grand River Watershed.
A warm front will bring temperatures up to 11 degrees today, with rain expected to start early this evening.
How much levels rise depends on the amount of rainfall. The Conservation Authority will monitor conditions closely.
Water levels will remain high into Wednesday. There is the risk of ice jams in Grand Valley and West Montrose.
The major reservoirs are at low winter holding levels, with maximum storage room available to manage runoff.
Residents need to be extremely cautious around watercourses, with unstable ice, and snow cover hiding streams and ditches.
