GOJHL Wrap-up: Warriors Lose, Elmira Earns a Shut Out

Brampton 3 Stratford 1

Hayden Broomhead scored just 37 seconds into the game but that would be all the offense the Warriors would generate as Stratford lost 3-1 to Brampton.

Deaglan Small scored twice for Brampton incluing an empty netter at the end of the first period.

Masson Sarris was in on all three of the Bomber goals, scoring once and setting up the other two.

Sam Dallas suffered the loss for Stratford, allowing two goals on 40 shots.

Brendon Landry made 28 saves for Brampton.

Elmira 2 Cambridge 0

Matt Murray and Ethan Skinner scored as the Elmira Sugar Kings shut out Cambridge 2-0.

Murray's first period goal was assisted by Jeremey Goodwin and Jeff Jordan.

Skinner's goal came in the final 33 seconds of the game, unassisted on an empty net.

Jonathan Reinhart earned the win with a 43 save performance. Ryan Wagner stopped 37 shots for the Winterhawks.

Kitchener 5 Guelph 3

The Kitchener Dutchmen scored four times in the third period to rally to beat Guelph 5-3.

Michael Alberga's goal just past the midway point of the final frame stood as the game winner. Austin Gaboury added insurance with a short handed goal on an empty Hurricanes net with 38 seconds left in the game.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
