Video Surveillance Considered For County-Owned Buildings in Huron

Huron County council appears ready to approve the use of video surveillance to help provide security in some county-owned buildings.

Acting C-A-O Meighan Wark explains the use of video surveillance is common with many municipalities, and they've approved the proposal with a view to balancing the needs for safety and security of staff - with the privacy rights of residents and staff.

Wark says the use of video surveillance allows them to employ a variety of methods for monitoring spaces and resources at the county.

The approval still has to be confirmed at next month's regular Huron County council meeting.
