Bruce Power has another new partner in its multi-year Life Extension Program. It's a start-up company based in Kincardine, called Nuclear Promise X.
NPX will support a number of initiatives within Bruce Power’s Engineering Division, beginning with a focus on engineering and configuration control programs.
"We're excited to have NPX on board," said Gary Newman, Bruce Power’s senior vice president and chief engineer. "With the significant volume of engineering work underway at Bruce Power, we are actively implementing tools under the Artificial Intelligence umbrella to help perform high-quality engineering work more efficiently."
NPX has its headquarters in downtown Kincardine. The office serves as a collaboration space and up to 10 "innovation catalysts’ are expected to work there.
After hours, the local Kinetic Knights Robotics group will use the space for brainstorming.
"Bruce Power is simultaneously operating the world’s largest nuclear facility, while also extending its operating life for decades," said Bharath Nangia, NPX president and CEO. "NPX is thrilled to have an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to these massive undertakings. Our work will set new standards for cost and predictability of projects and services, and for deploying the smarter tools that we need to get there."
