Tourism partnership to build on local brands

The project manager for Regional Tourism Organization 4 says the partnership with the counties of Huron, Perth, Wellington and Waterloo Region does not take anything away from their own unique brands.

Andrea Gardi said  Huron County is a perfect example of an area that has hundreds of years of stories and brand recognition, so their goal was to build on that, not dilute it.

"Look at some of the destinations. They're all so unique. They all have a different essence of who they are and they have different assets, they have different stories, they have different characters. So it doesn't make sense to try to make them all the same," said Gardi.

She said she believes Huron County has an opportunity to work with the different destinations so that when someone spends a few days in Bayfield, they can then be directed to Blyth, or Goderich or Hensall.

And it's the same for the other counties. By working together, Gardi said the end result is visitors spend more time in the region.
