New Seniors ASK program launched today in Grey Bruce

A new Seniors program in the region will help seniors stay active and engaged.

Active Lifestyles Centre Grey Bruce has received $19,500 for the Seniors ASK Program.

The program fosters social inclusion and engagement of seniors by encouraging them to share their knowledge, skills and experience.

It's a free program which allows seniors to access local information and advocacy in the areas that interest and concern to them.

The majority of the trained volunteers who answer the phones, emails and other inquiries at Seniors ASK are seniors themselves. They can help seniors and caregivers to find answers to questions and solutions to problems, or provide resources and advocacy.

Funding has been provided by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program

“Seniors are the pillars of our communities. By supporting community-based projects like these, we are taking action to ensure that seniors have a strong presence in their communities across Canada and that they receive the recognition, respect and admiration they deserve.” – The Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister of Seniors.
