The Grey-Bruce Health Unit has recognized the work done at a local COVID-19 vaccination hockey hub.
The Davidson Centre in Kincardine hosted one of the mass vaccination hubs in its arena as vaccines began their rollout in the Grey-Bruce region. From March 12th to August 16th, the Davidson Centre administered more than 27,000 doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. The GBHU called on local partners to develop the hockey hubs in order to "solve the storage, distribution, and safety challenges associated with COVID-19 vaccines." Following the great work done at the Davidson Centre, the GBHU's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ian Arra, presented the Municipality of Kincardine with a commemorative plaque to thank them for the efforts undertaken at the arena.
Many community partners helped make the Davidson Centre hockey hub a success, including Bruce Power and Chapman's Ice Cream, who both donated equipment and fridges to help out at the site.
