Local Mayor Re-Elected to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities National Board of Directors

A local mayor and member of Wellington County Council has been re-elected to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities National Board of Directors.

Mapleton Mayor Gregg Davidson will be one of 16 members representing the Ontario Caucus for the 2023-24 term.

"The FCM Board of Directors is made up of elected municipal officials and affiliate members from all regions and communities across Canada. The board meets quarterly to discuss key municipal issues, set policy priorities, and serve as a support system for municipalities bringing forward their messages to the Government of Canada," stated a release from Wellington County.

Gregg Davidson was elected to Wellington County Council representing Ward 2 in 2014 and elected as Mayor for the Township of Mapleton in 2018.

“On behalf of County Council and staff, I’d like to congratulate Councillor Davidson on being re-elected to the FCM National Board of Directors,” said Warden Andy Lennox. “The FCM Board of Directors forms a broad base of support and carries the municipal message all the way to the Government of Canada.”

“It’s an honour to be re-elected to the FCM National Board of Directors representing the Ontario Caucus,” commented Davidson. “I welcome this opportunity to work with leaders from across the country to address important municipal concerns. I look forward to continuing the Board’s important work with the Government of Canada. I am incredibly proud to be advocating for people of Ontario and Wellington County.”
