The Township of Huron-Kinloss awarded a total of $100,000 in grants to 21 local groups through the Community Well-Being Program.
The annual program provides funding for projects and services that will have a positive impact on the community.
The committee, made up of the town's CAO, Manager of Strategic Initiatives, Treasurer, and Mayor, Don Murray, reviewed 24 applications last month.
The biggest grant recipients include the Huron Bruce Parents Auxillary ($10,000) to help them purchase a new fryer; the Ripley Business Community ($10,000) for its Mural and Downtown Lighting Project; the Ripley Curling Club ($9,143) for ice surface lighting and the Lucknow Legion ($8,000) to help with kitchen renovations.
Since its inception in 2018, the program has dispersed over $400,000 to Huron-Kinloss organizations.
