UPDATE: Thunderstorm watch ended for midwestern Ontario

Environment Canada says conditions have improved after issuing a severe thunderstorm watch for midwestern Ontario earlier Tuesday.

The weather agency announced in the afternoon that watches were in effect due to a cold front moving through the area.

It was expected to trigger severe thunderstorms, but forecasters later altered it to a special weather statement for winds, before removing it altogether around 8 p.m.

City/County Councillor Bill Dennis is asking council to reconsider a previous decision and let him return to in-person meetings once they resume, even though it's unknown when sessions will return to Sarnia city hall.
