Community Foundation Grey Bruce (CFGB) has doled out hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities.
The CFGB says there are 58 recipients of the Spring Community Grants this year. Over $217,000 in total was awarded.
The maximum amount for the grants was increased to $5,000 this year and the allowable administration expenses to 25 per cent of the requested project budget. This resulted in 82 total applications.
In 2025, the CFGB said there was a growing number of projects based around mental health and wellness, youth support, reconciliation, and equity and inclusion.
Some of the grants went to projects run by Big Brothers Big Sisters, Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce, United Way Bruce Grey, and Elephant Thoughts, which is working with Indigenous youth.
"Every year the Foundation learns so much about what is happening in communities across Grey Bruce through our Spring application intake. We are seeing the creativity and resilience of the local charitable sector amid challenging times. People helping people makes our community a better place to live, work and play for everyone," said CFGB Executive Director Stuart Reid.
