Mitchell man wins $100,000

A Mitchell man took home a top prize in an OLG Instant Game, netting himself $100,000.

In a trip to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, Gregory Van Bakel said he has been since he was old enough to buy a ticket. Now the plumber by trade has his first big win after scratching off a lucky 3x Fortune ticket.

"I went to the store and this ticket caught my eye, so I decided to buy it," said Van Bakel in a release. "I played it right away while I was still at the store. When I scanned it using the ticket checker, I was shocked to see the winning amount!"

He said he’s kept the news of his win a secret until now, but he planed on surprising his wife, paying off some bills, and investing.

"Becoming a winner was very shocking, but it’s a great feeling," he said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Convenience Mini Mart on Culver Drive in London.
