Port Elgin Pumpkinfest warns of email scam

Port Elgin Pumpkinfest is warning of an online impersonator that is attempting to scam people in the area.

The long-running festival shared an alert about the scam on Friday, saying that an email circulating is falsely inviting vendors to apply for the 2026 festival.

Pumpkinfest says the email, [email protected], has no affiliation with the organization and residents should not reply or send any payment to that address.

"If you’re ever unsure whether a message is legitimate, please contact us through our official website or our social media accounts before taking any action," read a statement from the festival.

Saugeen Shores Police has not responded to whether anyone has reported being taken advantage by this scam.

This year's Pumpkinfest takes place October 3 and 4.
