Grey Bruce Public Health (GBPH) has added two new members to the organization’s Senior Leadership Team.
Lindsay Johnston will serve as GBPH’s new Director of Community Health, while Jillian Fenik will serve as Director of Health Protection.
The Board of Health, which only recently had its authority returned to it from the province, said the organization is transitioning to a leadership model with Director-level positions.
Johnston and Fenik are the first to fill those roles. GBPH is also in the process of trying to hire a Director of Corporate Services.
Johnston has served as manager of Grey Bruce Public Health’s Vaccine Preventable Diseases program and held leadership positions with the Grey Bruce Ontario Health Team.
Fenik has spent 25 years with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, which included 19 years as the organization’s Manager of Infectious Diseases, Sexual Health, and Harm Reduction.
"I am excited to welcome both Lindsay and Jillian to the Grey Bruce Public Health team. Their expertise, experience, perspectives, and passion for the Grey-Bruce community will be incredible assets to the Senior Leadership Team and the entire organization," says Dr. Brittany Graham, GBPH’s Medical Officer of Health and CEO in a release.
The Board said the change aims to strengthen strategic direction, improve leadership capacity, and support the consistent delivery of public health programs and services.
