More than a year after two seniors were killed in a crash in North Perth, murder charges have been laid against a teenage driver.
Perth County OPP announced on Thursday that an 18-year-old from North Perth is charged with two counts of second-degree murder. The charges stem from a two-vehicle crash on October 4, 2025.
A 72-year-old and a 75-year-old were killed when a vehicle and pickup truck collided on Perth Line 86. The two deceased were the occupants of the vehicle.
The driver of the pickup, who was 17 at the time of the crash, was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the charges were laid as a "result of the investigation", but offered no additional details.
The 18-year-old has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Stratford court in relation to the charges at a later date. The accused's name is not being released as they were a youth at the time of the incident.
