UPDATE: Intermediate Provincials Continue

At the OCA Best Wewstern Intermediate Provincial Championship in Walkerton, women's teams have completed Draw 3.

The results are: Team Middaugh (Orillia) 9 Team Almas (Walkerton) 7 Team Grover (Scarborough) 9 Team McCue (Trenton) 2 Team McBain (Ottawa) 8 Team Brown (Guelph) 3 Team Shackleton (St. Marys) 10 Team Carwardine (Toronto) 9

Team Schackleton and Team McBain lead the standings at 3-0.

Draw 3 for the men is at 5:00pm and Draw 4 for the women is at 9:00pm.

Paisley's Al Hutchinson won his first draw at the Best Western Intermediate Men Provincial Championship being hosted in Walkerton. He downed Corey Heggestad's Innisfil based rink 8-2 yesterday.

On the women's side, Sara Almas of Walkerton fell 9-7 to Cheryl McBain from Ottawa. In the first draw yesterday, the home-town favourite fell 10-3 to Kathy Brown's Guelph-based rink.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
