Goodwill To Open 'One-Stop-Shop' At London Rd. Plaza

Sarnia's Goodwill Career Centre has found a new home just steps from their current dwelling.

Early next year the centre will open their doors in a newly constructed 17,000 sq ft building at the London Rd. Plaza.

CEO Kevin Smith says Goodwill will occupy roughly half the space and it will allow them to combine two services into one.

"5,000 sq ft of it will be used for the career centre itself, and then there will be 2,000 sq ft dedicated to our developmental services or what we call the Connections Program," he says. "So people will be able to come in there and get services which right now they were able to do, but it wasn't like a one-stop-shop."

The current career centre will be demolished for parking after Goodwill moves on January 2.

Smith says they hope to place 900 people into a job each year once they relocate.
