Planned power outages in Courtright area Sunday

There are a couple of planned power outages in the Courtright area this weekend, as large vessels are moved down St. Clair Parkway.

Hydro One says an outage is scheduled for Sunday, April 19 between 1 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., impacting about 459 customers.

They say a second one, affecting around 73 customers, will happen between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

The utility said crew members will be making sure power lines aren't contacted. Hydro One said it coordinated the work to limit the duration and amount of customers impacted.

As an essential service, Hydro One is reminding the public to maintain social distancing during this time as its crews assist the move.

Affected customers are notified via auto dialer and can call 1-888-664-9376 for additional information.

NOVA Chemicals said a convoy of vehicles is expected to depart from the Courtright supply dock at approximately 1 a.m. and arrive at the future Rokeby facility around 6 a.m.

The vehicles transporting the two large pressure vessels will be accompanied by police and utility escorts, spotters and other support.
