Sarnia City Hall employees will be working from home over the next two weeks after two employees tested positive for COVID-19.
General Manager of Lambton Public Health Andrew Taylor said there is no evidence to suggest transmission in the workplace at this time, which is why an outbreak has not been declared at city hall.
The Public Health Unit is working with the city to determine the next steps and identify close contacts of the confirmed cases.
Although an outbreak has not been declared, all city hall staff and the administrative staff at public works and transit have been told to work from home for the remainder of the year.
On Saturday night, Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley posted on Twitter to wish the two employees a "speedy and healthy recovery".
Residents who need to get in contact with staff can contact customer service via email at customerservice@sarnia.ca or by filling out an online form. Residents who call customer service are asked to leave a voicemail so that staff can respond during business hours.Wishing the 2 City Employees at Sarnia City Hall with Covid 19, a speedy and Healthy Recovery.
