Significant rainfall expected in Sarnia-Lambton

Sarnia-Lambton can expect to get quite a bit of rain Tuesday.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement advising of significant rainfall into the evening hours.

The national weather agency said rain will move in from the southwest in the morning as a low pressure system approaches.

Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 millimetres are expected by the time the rain tapers to a few showers in the evening. Locally higher rainfall amounts of up to 40 millimetres are possible in heavy downpours and thunderstorm activity.

Motorists are reminded that heavy rain can cause ponding on roads and to give yourself extra time.
