Police seize drugs, body armour and ammunition in weekend bust

Sarnia police seized over $9,500 worth of drugs from a Christina Street home over the weekend.

Members of the SPS Vice Unit along with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a Christina Street home near Confederation Street, just after 4 p.m. Saturday.

Police were attempting to locate a firearm, allegedly in the possession of the accused, illegally.

When officers entered the unit, they located the accused who was allegedly attempting to hide.

Over 25.5 grams of cocaine, 33.71 grams of fentanyl, 11.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, five rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, a gun safe and body armour was seized.

Richard Paul Meloche, 33, of Sarnia is charged with three counts of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Police have also requested an arrest warrant for a 28-year-old woman in connection with the drug trafficking charges.
