Sarnia students win bronze at provincial championship

A basketball team from Alexander Mackenzie Secondary School in Sarnia has some new hardware after competing at the Special Olympics Ontario School Championships.

The Mustangs won bronze in the basketball tournament after competing in Kingston this week.

The provincial championship was held at Queen’s University on June 6 and June 7.

The team consisted of five students: Andrew Brimmer, Connor Matheson, Charlie Tower, Emma Wilson, and Kian O’Keefe, and was led by Head Coach Sarah Hotke and supported by ALLP Teacher Mark MacDonald.

Hotke previously told Sarnia News Today that she wants to expand the school program, which is separate from the community programs that Special Olympics Sarnia runs.
