Aamjiwnaang celebrates Solidarity Day

First Nations communities across the country, including Aamjiwnaang First Nation, are coming together today to mark National Indigenous Peoples Day, also known as Solidarity Day.

The celebration kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community Centre with the Chief and Council Community Breakfast.

Today's events at the centre and Bear Park include face painting, inflatables, community bingo and a frybread competition.

This evening there's the Aamjiwnaang's Got Talent youth competition and a baseball tournament.

The day wraps up with fireworks at 10 p.m.
