Sarnia man arrested after pointing a gun from his balcony

A Sarnia man is facing charges after police were called to an incident early Friday morning at an apartment building on Devine Street.

Police said the victim was yelling at a resident at the apartment from the street when a separate man appeared on one of the balconies with an assault style gun.

The accused then allegedly pointed it at the victim, threatening him and telling him to leave.

According to police, the man then went back into his unit when the victim made one more attempt to reach the person he was looking for.

The accused then allegedly came back outside on to his balcony with what appeared to be described as a "Dirty Harry" looking silver handgun.

Police allege he threatened the victim.

The male victim then ran away and contacted police.

The man inside the apartment was located and arrested without incident.

A search warrant was executed for his apartment and several offensive weapons were located and seized.

These include numerous BB and airsoft style guns, including ones matching the description of those involved in the incident.

A 49 year-old is facing five charges including assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court on Tuesday.
