The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) is doing more to include Francophones at its Sarnia stores.
New signage, French speaking staff and French versions of LCBO publications were introduced on Friday, November 1 at the Quinn Drive location.
The store was also named the designated French-language-services (FLS) location.
Manager Jason Killingsworth said implementing French services has been in the works for over a year.
"We did a small renovation, we did our FLS signage in the last year and a half, then we finally got to the point where we had a full conversion," he said.
Killingsworth said he's been a part of the Francophone community so having these new additions were important to him.
"For me it's very dear to my heart, I enjoy this community so much. I've been a part of it for 25 years and it's very special," he said.
There are currently three French language speaking employees at the FLS store.
"It's important to note throughout the entire operations throughout the day there will be somebody here that can offer that service," said District Manager Terry Dubuque.
Killingsworth says French speaking employees will also be hired and bilingual signage will go up at LCBO locations at Lakeshore Road and Christina Street.
There are roughly 5,400 Francophones that live in Lambton County.
