Local MPPs sworn into office

Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey and Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Steve Pinsonneault have officially been sworn into office.

The two Progressive Conservative MPPs took their oaths on Tuesday.

They were re-elected during the 44th Ontario general election on February 27, which resulted in a third consecutive PC majority win.

This will mark Bailey's sixth term.

Pinsonneault has not yet served a full term in office. He was re-elected last month after being voted in during a by-election in May 2024.

Premier Doug Ford will be sworn in alongside his new executive council on Wednesday, March 19.

A ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

The Legislature will be called back on Monday, April 14.
