UPDATE: No injuries in structure fire

Sarnia police say they're no longer investigating a shed fire on Aamjiwnaang First Nation.

No injuries were reported in the structure fire that happened in the area of Tashmoo Avenue and Churchill Road on Monday evening.

In an email to Sarnia News Today, Deputy Chief of Police Ron Hansen said the fire was reported at 6:30 p.m.

"Sarnia fire extinguished a structure fire that consisted of a shed," Hansen said. "The scene was cleared at 9:47 p.m. The fire is no longer under investigation by police and it has been determined that no criminal offence occurred."

Sarnia police initially reported the incident on social media as an ongoing arson investigation and advised residents to expect an increased police presence in the area.

Sarnia Fire Rescue said despite minor water supply issues, crews were able to control and extinguish the fire quickly.
