Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman has been named Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affaris for Ontario's new government.
Doug Ford and his cabinet was sworn in Friday.
Hardeman has been an MPP since 2005 and served as Minister of Agriculture and food under Mike Harris from 1999 to 2001.
Organizations, such as the Ontario Federation of Agriulture and Grain Farmers of Ontario, sent out congratulatory statements today.
President of the OFA Keith Currie says Hardeman's experience also includes that as agriculture critic when the conservatives made up the opposition.
