Sponsorship Under The Microscope

Sponsorship is going under the microscope.

Sarnia Council has approved a Sponsorship Research Project.

The Partnership Group Sponsorship Specialists are being hired to review sponsorship options and opportunities and complete an inventory and evaluation of all City facilities.

Mayor Mike Bradley says the consultants will position the City to realize sponsorship opportunities.

Bradley says RBC naming rights is the largest sponsorship opportunity on the horizon, which they hope to have in place by August.

Andy Bruziewicz was the only councillor to not support the recommendation, believing the third party was not needed and city staff could complete the task.

$51,000 will be drawn from the Parks and Recreation Reserve with the total cost to be refunded with revenue from sponsorships.
