New Sarnia Diabetes Branch Opens (Gallery)

Local dignitaries, including Mayor Mike Bradley and City Councillor Andy Bruziewicz, helped officially open the Canadian Diabetes Association's new office and drop-off centre Wednesday.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held over the noon hour at the Murphy Rd. location.

Regional Director Trevor Edwards with the National Diabetes Trust, which runs the Clothesline program, says it's a great day for Sarnia.

Edwards says Value Village pays them for all of the donated product they receive.

He says the funds provide services for local residents living with diabetes, including sending children to camp to meet other kids coping with the disease.

Six people will work out of the new location.
